SXSW is officially here. Trust me, I know. I went downtown tonight to have dinner with a college buddy and saw the throngs of Interactive SXSWers nerdily sporting their badges, hanging from lanyards. Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’ll be wearing a SXSW Badge in a couple of days, but I’ll also be savvy enough (read: this is my 8th consecutive SXSW) to stick it under my shirt except when a doorman asks to see it. I was also lucky enough to meet one of my current favorite people, Gary Vaynerchuck, right in front of Stubbs. Such is the magic of this conference. I digress…

Many of y’all WithCheesePlease.com fans have inquired why I’m not throwing a big SXshindig. Well, perhaps next year I’ll have enough steam to do so… For the time being, I’d love to see everyone out at the two shows I’m producing for my awesome day job. One is at Red 7 (next to Beauty Bar on 7th, just east of Red River) and features a reunion from Naked Raygun as well as my pick of the night, Dub Trio. The other show involves both stages at Emo’s (603 Red River) and highlights include the Hands, White Denim and the Blakes. Set phasers to “packed house” for this one, folks.
