HLLLYH Y’all!

The Mae Shi’s rockin’ video for “Run To Your Grave” from HLLLYH
Thumbs UP: Although I’m a bit weary of the excess and grandeur of SXSW, I’d be lying if I didn’t also admit that I still look forward to it. Roughly 1,400 bands descend upon Austin each March during a four day period where each of them (usually) play at least twice. There are the ‘official’ evening showcases, for the badgeholders, wristbanders and the like - and also the incredibly plentiful day shows, generally open to everyone. It is a marathon of loud music, free booze and less elbow space than ten astronauts in a port-a-potty.
Since I’ll be in the eye of this hurricane, I may as well give you my personal picks - which I’ll be laying out right here on WithCheesePlease.com - tell your friends! So, without more delay - here are my recommendations for Wednesday night. Whooop! Highlight? Los Angeles’ the Mae Shi!
